It's tempting to just bag up the old LEGO for the charity shop or the bin and be done with it. But before you do, it's worth a quick reality check — because selling it is usually less effort, and more reward, than people assume.
The "effort" is smaller than you think
People picture hours of sorting and listing. With a buy-back service there's almost none of that:
- No sorting — send it mixed.
- No photographing or listing — unlike eBay.
- No boxes or instructions needed.
- Free postage — a label or a collection, not a post-office trip.
Realistically it's a few minutes for a price, ten minutes to box it, and done.
The "reward" is more than you think
Because LEGO holds its value, even a used, mixed tub is worth a worthwhile sum — and any sealed sets, retired sets or minifigures hiding in there can lift it well beyond what you'd guess. Compared with binning it (nothing) or donating it (a good deed, but no cash), selling is the option that actually pays.
When it might not be worth it
To be fair: if you've only got a tiny handful of common bricks, the sum will be small. But for any decent tub or collection, the effort-to-reward ratio is firmly in favour of selling.
