How to tell if it’s genuine LEGO
A couple of quick checks before you post — it saves you the wait if something turns out not to qualify.
Frequently asked questions
Do you buy Mega Bloks or other clone brands?
No — we can only pay for genuine LEGO. Clone and compatible-brick brands (MEGA Bloks, Cobi, Lepin and similar) aren't accepted and are left out of your offer if they're mixed in with genuine bricks.
Can I sell fake or bootleg LEGO?
No. Counterfeit or bootleg sets — even ones that look convincing — aren't genuine LEGO and can't be included in an offer. See the checks below if you're not sure what you've got.
Do you buy Duplo?
Not currently — BrickBuy focuses on standard LEGO System bricks and sets. If you’ve got Duplo to sell, Big Block Exchange specialises in it.
How can I tell if my bricks are genuine LEGO?
Check the top of each stud for the LEGO logo — genuine bricks have it embossed on every single stud, not just the 2x2 or larger ones. See the full checklist below for more ways to spot the real thing.
What happens if non-LEGO items are mixed into my order?
They're identified and set aside during our checking process. They aren't included in your offer and, because of the cost of returning small mixed items, they can't be sent back — so it's worth a quick sort before you post.
